Aqui comparto breves impresiones de esta conferencia a la que tuve el gusto de asistir. Nada super novedoso, pero hay buenas noticias relativas al incremento del mercado Ax y sobre todo en companyas de gran tamanyo. Siento que este en ingles y quizas con algun error.

Microsoft is working hard to support larger and complex implementations, Kodak and Carrefour were some of the examples. Performance then is a big concern; it seems that in the near future Ax architecture is going to be redesigned to do it less ‘chatty’, as we know nowadays Ax produces a lot of calls. This could be a really major change. After that, Ax R3 CU8 is just around the corner, expected for December 2014
Highlighted topics have been:
– Life cycle services. They’ve focused clearly on this tool that differentiates Ax from competitors, easing implementations to partners, more predictable and repeatable, and also helping end customers to monitor the Ax environment. Interesting points showed were:
- Search on KB: Allowing to search the latest KB, also you can look for and AOT object and know in which ones was affected
- Mirror your environment on Azure to report Microsoft issues or just for testing/staging purposes.
– Cloud for business. Azure is going to have a wider and powerful machine catalog ready for big implementations, also for SME making easy to grow and scale. Microsoft cloud proposal is really rich offering ERP, communications like Outlook365 and Lync and also productivity tools, all of them in a managed and secured environment that can be deployed in multiple countries all around the globe.
– Demand forecasting. New functionality in Ax, related with machine learning and retail module. Machine learning also has been related to Internet of things trend, will be needed to made decisions based on that huge amounts of data
Other topics were:
– Mobile apps. Nowadays timesheets and expenses are ready for Ax. It could be useful for project oriented organizations.
– Management reporter. Investments on improvement will continue. At the moment it’s only focus on ledger information, however include AR or AP is not discarded for the future.
